WHAT'S YOUR FAST FOOD AND WHY?

I understand fast food, the way it makes me feel and its distinguishable taste amongst normal food. So I chose my favorite fast food based on its inability to replicate at home. And that is undoubtably Arby's roast beef.

Think about it... Have you ever tasted roast beef like Arby's, not at Arby's? The answer is no. That's because whatever coagulated monstrosity that is the beef from Arby's has been chemically engineering and refined to create an ever so consistent, moist and delicious taste.

When I was a child, I was a picky eater and hated submarine sandwiches because they always came with tomatoes, mayonnaise, red onion, etc. I was too ashamed to pick it off and I would force myself to eat this at a family gathering.

I was around the age of 9 when I discovered Arby's for the first time. Similar situation, family gathering, submarine sandwiches, layered with all the crap I couldn't stand to eat. But at that moment where I was about to give up, throw in the towel and say screw it I'm skipping this meal, Grandpa John brought a bag of mysterious sandwiches wrapped up in foil and I had to ask him "whatcha got there?"

Grandpa: oh these are roast beef sandwiches

Me: is there any tomatoes on it?

Grandpa: nope

Me: mayonnaise?

Grandpa: nope

Me: onions?

Grandpa: Just meat and bread

[gasping like a teenager who just got asked to go to prom]

Me: That's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard

And from that day on, Arby's has become my favorite fast food.
